I started taking recreational gymnastics in August 2014 at Thrive Training Center. After my second in Intermediate gymnastics in April 2015, Coasch Madison asked my grandparents if I would be interested in joining pre-team. This meant going from a one hour recreational class per week to 3 days/6 hours per week. My mom was skeptical as I was not very disciplined and it seemed like a lot of hours and I was going to the youngest team member. After talking to Coach Amy and getting some reassurance, we decided to give it a try and it has been the best decision we ever made. I have so much energy and gymnastics is the perfect thing to focus it on. Although my focus is far from perfect, it is so much better since I started team gymnastics. I just had my first meet in September 2016 in Santa Cruz and cannot wait for more! Hoping I qualify to compete on bars at my next meet and that my beam routine improves.
